Testimonials
It is deeply gratifying when the care we give is meaningful and helpful to our residents—because the residents mean so much to us.
Here are some comments about our care:
When "home" was no longer an option for my Mother, I didn't know what to do or where to turn. Then a friend suggested that I look into Fishers Peak Assisted Care. That suggestion was literally a life saver. The loving care given to the residents has added years to my Mother's life. The care and caring provided by Fishers Peak Assisted Care is just extraordinary.

On behalf of the Family of Josephine Maio, we wish to express our deep appreciation to you for the wonderful personal attention and care you give our Mother.
It was not an easy decision for our family to agree to place Mother in your facility last February. We felt a great deal of doubt and uncertainty in handing over our Mother to the care of others we hardly knew. We were also keenly aware of the fear and anxiety our Mother would experience in leaving her home to begin a new stage of her life in strange and unfamiliar surroundings.
The fact that both Mother and her family have experienced no such anxiety or uncertainty is a tribute to the excellent professional care she has received at Fishers Peak the past ten months. You have played an important role in making Mother feel comfortable and well care for.
We are especially grateful to you for the continuous personal attention you give to Mother. It is apparent to all of us when we visit Mother that she feels a closeness to you that can only be attributed to the kindness and sensitivity you show her on a daily basis.
Living in a nursing home can be a very depressing experience for the elderly who have lost their home and independence. But you have helped her make that transition by your continued efforts to make her laugh and to bring some cheer to her otherwise routine life. For all your efforts we are deeply grateful. At this holy season of the year we extend to you our heartfelt thanks and also our wishes for a blessed and happy Christmas.
—The Family of Josephine Maio
"Some people seem to specialize in doing thoughtful deeds,
Before you ask they understand your problems and your needs,
They help because they want to. They find joy in being kind,
And making others happy is the first thing on their minds.
They make this world a better place by practicing the art,
Of reaching out to others and by giving . . . from the heart"
—Amanda Bradley
Thank you for all your help. Listening to me, helping me, and caring,

Just a little card to let you know how much we appreciate everything you did for Dad/Granddad while he was there, and after he moved to the Nursing Home. Your visits always cheered him up. He loved you all like his 2nd family. We appreciate you bringing his friends to the funeral and dinner after.
You have all been a blessing to us, and given us comfort and strength. You have always given us your all, and we feel so blessed in having such wonderful and caring friends.
May God bless & reward you for your special caring of others. All our love to you all.

We cannot begin to tell you how very much (caring for Mom) meant to all of us! Your gentle loving care towards Mom, even though at times it was not an easy task, but you all handled it beautifully. And when (illness struck) I truly don’t know what I would have done without all of your help & caring support. It was such a difficult and tense time & you don’t know how much you eased both our fears because we always knew you were there to help not only Mom, but us.
We all can’t tell you how much everything you did for all of us we appreciate and are truly grateful. Thank you, Vi, for bringing Mom’s friends to the service. That meant a lot, too. We all are so fortunate and blessed to have such wonderful caretakers but also we consider our friends, and always will. There are never enough words or anyway we can repay you for all you did. But please know how very much you are thought of and in our prayers always.
May God Bless and keep you always! With fondness and much gratitude,
—The Family of Mima Cummings

On behalf of Betty Berger please accept a small token of her sincere appreciation for your friendship and care while she was staying with you. We’re sure you are aware of the difficult times she faced since the death of her husband last September, during which her health and zest for life had begun to deteriorate. All this seemed to turn around when she came to Fishers Peak, and her stay there was obviously her happiest time since last year. She was very vocal about how nice and helpful and friendly every one of the staff was to her. Her health seemed to return more each day, as did the sparkle in her eye and her sense of humor. You were all very good for her and are responsible for making her last few months happier. Thank you for being the good and caring people you are.
Best wishes,
—Jim & Sandy Berger

The staff at Fishers Peak Assisted Care took excellent care of my mother. The staff continuously went above and beyond the call of duty to ensure their residents were well cared for; always welcoming Mother’s friends and family when they would arrive for a visit. The staff kept me continuously informed about my mother. I was always invited to share a holiday meal with her, or for an afternoon of BINGO. They are all very warm and caring individuals.
I fully recommend Fishers Peak Assisted Care to any family whose loved one needs this type of care.

Dear Justin and Charla,
It has been two months since my aunt, Clotilda Vecchio, transferred to Trinidad State Nursing Home. It was a bumpy transition but she is doing fine.
I would like to thank you for your excellent and personal care of my aunt. During her stay with you the family, and in particular her siblings, were comforted by the fact that she was in a safe and caring environment. I compliment you and your staff for making your establishment clearly a home for the residents who no longer have one of their own.
Additionally, I would like to thank you and your staff for facilitating her move from Fishers Peak to the Trinidad Nursing Home. With everyone’s caring and professional help, from Charla to all the employees, we were able to move Clotilda with a minimum amount of stress and anxiety to her. Fishers Peak is truly a very special place.
Sincerely,
—Francesca Villani

Dear Justin and Charla,
The process of losing a parent ranks among the most stressful emotions a human can experience. The last month has been an emotional "roller coaster" of unbelievable proportions. And now it is over.
The loss process was difficult for many people including your staff, because they cared for my mother on a daily basis. That caring is the purpose of this letter.
Thank you for choosing a staff that had the capability for caring. The job they did, the extra steps they took all went to make this last month bearable for us all. We could see the love these women put into their daily tasks. It is obvious this is more than just a job for each one—they care about the people in their charge.
We appreciate what you all have done for Mother and us. Sincerely,
—Lee and Terri Kirkwood
